Equilar Recognizes International Women’s Day by Spotlighting Female Board Members


REDWOOD CITY, CA (March 8, 2018)—In recognition of International Women’s Day, Equilar is pleased to congratulate the Equilar Diversity Network (EDN) members who joined new public boards in the second half of 2017. These individuals are paving a path to diverse representation on boards and across corporate America.

“The Equilar Diversity Network was formed to help women and minorities gain more visibility as board-ready candidates,” said Belen Gomez-Russum, Senior Director of Board Services at Equilar. “We’re extremely proud to see these women further their professional careers and make an impact in corporate boardrooms.”

As part of an ongoing effort to foster diversity in America’s boardrooms, Equilar launched the Equilar Diversity Network (EDN) in 2016. A feature of the Equilar BoardEdge database, EDN is a consortium of leading diversity-focused organizations that combines registries of board-ready executives.

Each quarter, Equilar publishes the Gender Diversity Index, which tracks the women on boards at Russell 3000 companies. As of Q4 2017, women accounted for 16.5% of corporate board seats. While there has been progress in recent years, at the current rate of growth, gender parity would not be achieved until 2048.
