Biography
Mr. Stroucken is the President, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of the Company since December 2006. Before being appointed, Mr. Stroucken was a member of the board of directors of Owens-Illinois since August 2005. Prior to joining Owens-Illinois he was with H.B. Fuller Company, a $1.5 billion manufacturer of adhesives, sealants, coatings, paints and other specialty chemical products, as the President and Chief Executive Officer from 1999 to 2006 and as the Chairman of the Board from 1999 to 2006. Prior thereto, Mr. Stroucken was with Bayer Corporation as General Manager, Inorganics Division of Bayer AG from 1997 to 1998 and Executive Vice President and President of Industrial Chemicals Division of Bayer Corporation from 1992 to 1997. Mr. Stroucken has held directorships at publicly traded companies for over 10 years and is currently a director of Baxter International, Inc. (since 2004). Through his extensive board and management experience, Mr. Stroucken has obtained substantial experience leading and operating large, multi-faceted corporations and financial expertise. Mr. Stroucken's relevant experience with manufacturing in general, and with Owens-Illinois in particular, together with his executive and board experience and executive compensation and corporate governance training qualify him to serve on the Company's board of directors.
