Exciting New Equilar Insight Product Updates From Q1 2025

At Equilar, we continuously refine our products to ensure our clients have access to the most comprehensive, accurate, and actionable data and solutions. During the first quarter of 2025, our Products team introduced a number of enhancements to the Equilar Insight platform to improve the client experience. The latest enhancements and updates are summarized below.

Expanding our Executive Pay Survey to Top 50

The Equilar executive compensation survey has been the leading one of its kind for several years, offering a pool of data beyond the Top 5 named executive officers. In 2025, we officially expanded the survey’s coverage from Top 25 to Top 50. This update is designed to offer an even larger pool of executives than past years, ensuring organizations have access to the most robust benchmarking data available.

Enhancing ERIC With 10-K Exhibits

ERIC (Equilar Research Intelligence Copilot) continues to evolve as a powerful AI disclosure search tool for governance professionals. In our most recent update, we’ve expanded ERIC’s capabilities by integrating 10-K exhibits, which often contain valuable plan details not disclosed in proxy statements. Users can now ask ERIC for insights on ESPP plan details, dividend equivalents and other crucial compensation elements, gaining a deeper understanding of financial disclosures with ease.

Additions to the Board Brief — New Peer Updates Section and More

Staying informed about governance trends is critical for board members and executives. To provide a more holistic view of governance issues across peer groups, we’ve added a Peer Updates section to the Board Brief download. Similar to our Board Watch section, which tracks issues at directors’ other boards, this new feature helps users stay ahead of the current governance topics their peer organizations are addressing.

Additionally, we’ve incorporated three new data points to the Board Brief to provide a broader perspective on compensation challenges impacting clients' boards and peer groups:

  • Incentive Plan Metric Changes – Tracks added or removed metrics by comparing FY1 and FY2.

  • Bonus Payout Below Target – Highlights executives who received below-target bonus payouts.

  • Underwater Options – Identifies option grants that are currently underwater based on the latest stock price.

Performance Year Pay In TCR Download

To meet the needs of our financial clients, we have added performance year pay data to the Total Compensation Report (TCR) download. The update ensures our clients have all the appropriate data points required to run effective benchmarking analyses.
