American Electric’s Akins Took Home Over $150 Million as CEO

American Electric Power Company, Inc. announced the transition of Chief Executive Officer Nicholas K. Akins to Executive Chairman of the Board, effective December 31, 2022. Mr. Akins has been CEO of American Electric Power Company since November 12, 2011. From 2011 to 2021, Mr. Akins realized $151,316,746 in total compensation.

On January 1, 2023, Julia A. Sloat will assume the role of Chief Executive Officer. Ms. Sloat currently serves as President and Chief Financial Officer of the Company.
