Equilar has just released our latest report, on CFO pay strategies in the S&P 600. The 386 companies studied have had their CFOs in place for at least two full years. A few other findings:


  • Median total compensation for S&P 600 CFOs grew by 20.2 percent from 2009 to 2010. In 2010, median total compensation was approximately $924,848, up from approximately $769,389 in 2009.
  • Median total bonus payouts for S&P 600 CFOs increased to $200,158 in 2010, up 46.7 percent from the 2009 median of $136,454.
  • Basic Materials CFOs received the most compensation, with a median total pay of $1.09 million in 2010.
