David ChunDavid Chun
Chief Executive Officer and Founder

David has led Equilar from a pure start-up since its inception in 2000 to one of the most respected and trusted names in the executive compensation industry. David often speaks publicly on issues facing the executive compensation industry, including events hosted by The Conference Board, Directorship, The HR Policy Association, National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), NASDAQ, National Association of Stock Planning Professionals (NASPP), NYSE Euronext, RiskMetrics, Stanford's Directors' College and WorldatWork.

Prior to founding Equilar, David was a Vice President in the Investment Banking Division of Donaldson, Lufkin and Jenrette, a global investment bank that has since merged with Credit Suisse. Prior to DLJ, David was a management consultant with Bain & Company, a leading strategy consulting firm, and Kenan Systems, a telecom billing software developer that was subsequently acquired by Lucent Technologies in 1999.

David is a member of the Young Presidents' Organization (YPO), a Charter Member of the Asian-American Multi-Technology Association (AAMA), a director of the Asian Pacific Fund, a co-founder of the Korean American Society of Entrepreneurs (KASE), and an advisory board member of The Jackson Hole Group. David earned his MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelors of Science with Honors in Systems Engineering from the University of Virginia.

Niranjan SamantNiranjan Samant
Vice President of Sales and Client Services

Niranjan Samant oversees Equilar's Sales and Client Services activities and is responsible for accelerating revenue growth. Niranjan has spent more than a decade in high-technology sales management and has a proven track record of building and managing sales teams, opening and expanding new markets, and establishing go-to-market alliances. Most recently, he was Vice President of Sales at Serus, where he was responsible for developing sales strategies, leading the sales team, delivering the product, overseeing client support, and managing the business unit P&L. In his previous roles with Serus, as Director of Sales and as a global sales manager, Niranjan was responsible for several of the company's largest deals and cultivated many long-term customer relationships. He previously served as an account manager for IT Convergence, an enterprise application services provider, and HDFC Bank Ltd. He holds bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Mumbai and earned an M.B.A. from San Francisco State University.

 

Scott FingerhutScott Fingerhut
Senior Director of Marketing

Scott oversees Equilar's marketing activities ranging from corporate branding to direct marketing and public relations. He brings to Equilar over 15 years of marketing experience. Most recently, Scott was Sr. Director of Global Corporate Marketing at Tibco Software. Under his leadership, the company won two Stevies (American Business Awards) for launching B2B's most successful viral marketing campaign and a corporate magazine. Fingerhut also served as a group product marketing director for Tibco overseeing the Business Optimization product line. He came to Tibco when the firm acquired PRAJA, where Scott was the head of marketing. He also serviced Compaq and HP as an account supervisor for the public relations agency Weber Shandwick where a media reviews program he conceived of won PR Week's Innovation of the Year. Fingerhut holds an MA in organizational management and a BS in business management from San Diego State University.

 

Brian SohmersBrian Sohmers
Director of Product Management

As Director of Product Management, Brian Sohmers heads the team responsible for translating corporate vision into marketable products. Brian has spent over a decade launching innovative products and services. Prior to Equilar, Brian held positions at Serus, Oracle Corporation, and Agile Software where he was responsible for launching industry leading product lifecycle management and supply-chain management products. Brian previously held engineering positions at Ericsson, Vishay/Siliconix, and MEMC where he implemented yield improving manufacturing processes from sand to packaged component. Brian earned his MBA from the Leavey School of Business at Santa Clara University and a Bachelors of Chemical Engineering from The University of Dayton.

 

Rajesh GarigipatiRajesh Garigipati
Engineering Manager

Rajesh Garigipati oversees Equilar's Engineering and Information Technology teams. Rajesh has more than 13 years of software development experience covering a wide range of technologies and product areas. Prior to Equilar, Rajesh was a Senior Project Manager at Exilant Consulting responsible for growing the development team to 35 people in the Global Delivery Model. Rajesh was also a Project Manager at Infosys Technologies Limited, responsible for delivering large projects to hi-tech clients. Rajesh holds a BS in Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai.
