Biography
David M. McClanahan, age 59, has served as a director and as President and Chief Executive Officer of CenterPoint Energy since 2002. He served as Vice Chairman of the predecessor company from October 2000 to September 2002 and as President and Chief Operating Officer of its Delivery Group from 1999 to September 2002. Previously, he served as President and Chief Operating Officer of the predecessor company's Houston Lighting & Power Company division from 1997 to 1999. He has served in various executive officer capacities with the Company since 1986. He currently serves on the boards of the Edison Electric Institute and the American Gas Association.
